The Photography of Native Cuban Artists Jorge V. Gavilondo, ,J.Gustavo Gavilondo, Jose Victor Gavilon
Come and join us at the Grove for the new Art show of Cuba curated by Jennifer Jane. Jorge V. Gavilondo was born of Cuban parents in Chicago, USA, in 1949,and
has lived in Havana since 1950. Jorge started in the art of photography being
just a boy, using a Leica C from his father. He was always drawn by urban
documentary photography, a line of work he has maintained over the years. Four
years ago, Jorge turned "digital" and started a new stage in his
photographic work, intense and systematic, building an archive of some 70,000
digital images, mainly of Havana and its people.
The show will be hanging at the Grove till January 6th. Each print is
reasonably priced and will make a wonderful gift this Holiday season. The Grove
is located at 71 Orange St New Haven and is open M-F 8:30 - 5:30.
