Using I give.com and Amazon.com to help with funding.

I have heard mixed reviews about Igive.com. I give promotes its self as a way for people to help their favorite cause for free. Every time people use the site to search for products on line they are charged A penny a search and a portion of each purchase is donated to the persons favorite cause. What I have heard is that if you sign up with them, they will send out emails to people that look very much as if they are from your organization.

The best group I have heard of to sign up with for extra funding is amazon.com You get 4% of whatever your donors spend if they enter through your website first. It raises a nice amount of funding for your programs each year.

Is there any funding sources or ideas you have heard about or would caution others about?

First time I heard the Amazon thing. It is brilliant - I need to add that to my blog :-).
Oh, another cool concept: gamesthatgive.net

Have a look. It is actually fun. :)
I'm trying a few differnt things. Amazon is a small but very steady cash flow!!! Here is our smorgasbord of ways to contribute:

We have had good luck with GoodSearch.com. It offers a similar penny per/search rate using yahoo.com, as well as a 3-5% of purchase return for a wide variety of online merchants. We haven't made a ton of money, but every little bit helps.

To my knowledge, GoodSearch has never sent our users unsoliticted email.

What Does Dr. MLK, Jr. Mean to You?

Each month, we pose a question to the OneLISC family, and share the responses reflecting our diverse range of voices and backgrounds. To mark Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 92nd birthday, this month’s Reflections from the Field consider his life and work and his legacy today. The reflections register anger and dismay and exhaustion, but also hope, power and a commitment to keep working, to keep exerting good, strong pressure to shape our moral universe.

These Nonprofits Give Small Businesses What They Need to Survive and Thrive

So much goes into the relationship between small businesses and the nonprofit business development organizations (BDOs) that are dedicated to supporting them and helping them grow. The three BDOs profiled here, longtime LISC partners, have gone above and beyond to help entrepreneurs survive the COVID-19 pandemic. They know that the wellbeing of small businesses means jobs preserved, goods and services are accessible to the community, and local economies have a better chance of weathering the pandemic-borne recession.
