Event Description

Plug – loads, the energy used by electronics and appliances, can be as high as 40% of the energy bill of a U.S. households – and still growing. Consumers are looking for easy and affordable ways to reduce this, yet nothing exists to help them that doesn’t require inconvenient behavior changes or lengthy construction projects. With a likely 350MM addressable electrical outlets in US homes, the market is ripe for a change.

ThinkEco has developed a patent-pending, best-in-class device for monitoring and managing electricity at a plug-load level, called the modlet®. Users save at least 10% on their electric bill and payback time is approximately 6 months.

Erika keeps sustainability a top priority at ThinkEco and helps make the modlet a top priority for organizations, customers and partners. Previously, Erika consulted for environmentally focused private investors and online businesses. She worked with the sustainability strategy and marketing firm Green Order and for three years as the Director of Tourism Business and Development for a conservation group in Belize. Erika is the Founder and President of the Harvard Business School Green Business Alumni Association. She earned a BA from Vassar College, a MESc from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

EPA Awards GRID Alternatives Solar for All Grant

LISC partner GRID Alternatives has been awarded a $249,800,000 Solar for All grant from the EPA to advance renewable and clean energy sources for affordable housing communities across the country. “The grant is an incredible boon to the movement to decarbonize homes and lower energy costs that burden millions of everyday Americans,” said Michael T.
