NHPT Board member Alan Plattus, Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at the Yale University School of Architecture, and Director of the Urban Design Workshop, will speak on the importance of New Haven in the history of Modernist architecture and planning. He will trace the rise and eventual disenchantment with Modernism, which led to the collateral loss of several buildings that could have been saved.
Reception to begin at 6:00pm; lecture at 6:30. $10.00 suggested donation at the door. Registration is appreciated to info@nhpt.org or 203-562-5919.
This event, the second in a two-part series on the history of New Haven’s architecture, is made possible through the generous sponsorship of First Niagara.
