Open Streets Project Revamped

The Open Streets Project has undergone some changes over the last year. We bid a sad farewell to project co-founder, the Alliance for Biking & Walking, who are moving on to other things, and we happily welcomed a new partner, international Open Streets leader 8 80 Cities. We are excited for all the possibilities and energy this partnership will bring.

Maurice Jones on... (Episode #8)

In February’s installation of our monthly podcast, Maurice shares his thoughts on Black History Month and how it relates to LISC’s work.

LISC Teams Up with ESPN, Under Armour to Launch RePlay

A new grant program is set to help community-based organizations in Baltimore, Los Angeles and Philadelphia transform vacant lots into vibrant spaces for sports and recreation. Funded by ESPN and Under Armour and managed by LISC, the program will support revitalization efforts in underserved communities, creating safe places for youth to play. Grant applications are due on May 15, 2018.

Steeped in Black History, MACE Elevates—and Celebrates—the Delta

In recognition of Black History Month, we are spotlighting the Mississippi-based group MACE, a longtime LISC partner with an illustrious past rooted in the Civil Rights movement, and a deep and continuing track record of comprehensive community development. Before anyone ever called it that.
