On April 22, 1970, Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin gave us the first national Earth Day celebration, raising awareness about environmental threats and encouraging citizens of our planet to strive for healthy, sustainable surroundings. Local organizations will share their own efforts and tell you about some simple actions you can take to protect the earth.
