Wallingford Public Library, 200 North Main Street, Wallingford and Quinnipiac Valley Audubon Society, the local chapter of the National Audubon Society, invite the public to a screening of the film Ordinary Extraordinary Junco: Remarkable Biology from a Backyard Bird, Thursday, November 6 at 6:30 p.m. Following the film, QVAS board member Marty Moore will lead an informative discussion.
Juncos are among the most common and most abundant backyard birds of North America and they are easily observable by millions of people daily. Despite their abundance, birds of the genus Junco also exhibit stunning diversity in feather color, body shape and size, and behaviors among the various species, subspecies, and races across their range. They have also played a starring role in a wide array of scientific discoveries. Join us to hear about the exciting biology, including evolution that is happening every day in our own backyards.
Advance registration is encouraged. Please contact the library at 203-265-6754 or online at www.wallingfordlibrary.org to register.
