Event Description

We’re bringing the spirit of outdoor adventure and mountain culture to New Haven. This year’s World Tour features the best mountain films this year, showcasing amazing filmmaking talent from the world over to an audience that spans the globe.

As we do every year, we bring an exciting program to the screen, allowing everyone to experience these inspiring stories that drive us to keep exploring our world outside.

The 2015/2016 World Tour features a collection of exhilarating and provocative films that explore life in the mountains. They highlight remote cultures, intense expeditions into exotic landscapes and bring adrenaline-packed action sports into sharp focus.

The best part of hosting the World Tour is being able to witness a community of film buffs and lovers of the outdoors come together to share stories, be inspired to set out on new adventures and learn about the mountains they love. You will always connect with old friends and make new ones at the World Tour screenings. That’s the best part!

The most prestigious mountain festival in the world, The Banff Centre’s Banff Mountain Film Festival celebrates its 40th year by continuing to bring the best action, environmental, and adventure films to audiences in Banff and in 40 countries across the globe.

Join Denali when the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings the spirit of outdoor adventure to the Shubert Theater Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 7PM. Ticket proceeds benefit The Denali Foundation. VIP tickets are also available. VIP ticket holders will have a special reception before the show with beer, wine, and food along with reserved seating.

Verizon and LISC Come Together to Support Small Businesses with COVID-19 Recovery Fund

An investment of $2.5 million from Verizon is making it possible for LISC to begin offering critical relief and resiliency-building support to small businesses facing immediate financial threat because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding will go to make grants of up to $10,000, especially to entrepreneurs of color, women-owned businesses and other enterprises in historically under-served places who don’t have access to flexible, affordable capital. Verizon will highlight and bolster these efforts through their inaugural "Pay It Forward Live" online concert series.
